MLANET: the Medical Library Association Website

There has never been a more exciting time to be a librarian or a library association—and MLANET is part of that excitement.

MLANET debuted in 1995. It currently has more than 8,000 static pages. The site averages 8,000+ visits per day and the average length of each visit is about 3 minutes (based on Google Analytics statistics, December. '07 to January 2008). View local web usage statistics over the past 12 months.

Public or Member Center MLANET Sponsorship

The public MLANET site includes the MLANET home page, consumer health resources (a hot topic area for MLA members and the general public), job ads, and more than 6,000 total static pages. The MLANET Member Center targets MLA's professional member health sciences librarians with specific benefits and information, including the MLA News, Members Directory, salary survey, and advocacy tools.

Six banner positions are available for each area.

Available Banners and Buttons

For the convenience of sponsors, MLA uses standard banner units recommended by the Interactive Advertising Bureau. Banners appear on a white background on all the static pages throughout the site. Areas 1 and 2 are guaranteed "above the fold." Banners do not appear on printed pages. Choose from two six-month periods: October 1–March 31 or April 1–September 30.

Website Sponsor Terms
  • We do not guarantee any specific number of impressions, and pricing is not based on impressions or click-through rates. Check your website referrer statistics for click-through stats.
  • No more than six sponsors will be accepted for main MLANET pages at any time.
  • We recommend that your link be to the company home page or to a value-added information site that targets MLANET users.
  • Sponsor banners must be a stationary image or logo no larger than the specified size above; no Javascript, applets, or animations are accepted.
  • Send image at maximum resolution, but not over 30K.
  • Graphics will appear on a white background.
  • Send URL link and graphic saved as a GIF or JPG file via email to Barb Redmond.
  • Sponsorship graphics may include any or all of the following:
    • your name and logo;
    • description of product line;
    • slogans that do not provide comparative descriptions of your products or services;
    • value neutral descriptions of your products or services (including pictures); or
    • your company's locations, contact information, and web address.
    • Please ensure text is legible; we highly recommend you do not overcrowd your banner with text.
  • Graphic or link can be updated once after three months.
  • Sponsorship does not constitute MLA's endorsement or approval of sponsor's goods or services, and sponsor agrees not to communicate an endorsement or approval.

MLA '08 sponsorship area examples Web sponsorships are available for the annual meeting website at a special rate of $1,500 per banner.
